Kenyan winger Ayub Masika Timbe is officially a Reading FC player, after joining the English Championship side on Friday, on loan from Chinese League One side Beijing Renhe, until the end of this season.
Timbe joined the team nicknamed the Royals after successful trials.
Speaking to Reading FC after his signing, the Kenyan international said his move to the Championship team means progress in his soccer career.
“To me this is a new step, a new challenge. It is a very big step for me,” said the player in clip shared on the team’s Facebook page.
When asked about what he will bring on the table for Reading, the winger said, “I like to bring speed to the team. I am focused more on being efficient,” said the speedy winger.
“Just to let them know that I am very glad to be in this club. I am going to give 100%,” he added.
By joining a team in England, Ayub Timbe follows in the footsteps of Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama who plies his trade with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL).
Reading FC is 15th on the English Championship league log.
