Kikuyus living in Rift Valley have told Deputy President William Ruto not to campaign in his home turf because they already have his back.
Led by Huruma ward MCA Peter Chomba, they said they will campaign door-to-door to ensure that DP Ruto clinches the presidency in 2022.
"As Kikuyu community living in Rift Valley, we will support the Deputy President 100 per cent, therefore, he should not waste time campaigning here but seek support from other communities, " said the Huruma ward Jubilee MCA.
He spoke during the burial ceremony of Mzee Joseph Karubiu in Yamumbi where he reiterated that the community is not supporting the DP because of fear but because they love him and his development record.
"Ruto is our undisputed presidential candidate in 2022 and President Uhuru Kenyatta will fully support his candidature and we will follow none other than him," added Chomba.
He, however, refuted claims that there is a division between the deputy president and President Uhuru Kenyatta terming it as propaganda and total lies.
He called on DP Ruto to ensure that Kikuyus living in Rift Valley conduct their business without being harassed.
Ruto on his part assured all Kenyans that he will strive to unite Kenyans, further saying that everyone should feel free to work and live anywhere in the country.
