Wajir Woman Rep Fatima Gedi has launched a scathing attack against Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa and National Assembly Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali for allegedly disrespecting ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega during the second phase of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meeting, Gedi said that she is the one who smoked the two leaders from Kibra during the by-election.
Gedi said that she is not going to sit down and watch leaders disrespect the former Prime Minister in public. On the issue of the BBI, she called upon the Luhya Nation to declare a clear stand on the same.
“They said that I am the one who removed Didmus Baraza’s signature cap. The people of Western you should know that I am the one who chased Didmus and Washiali from Kibra. The luhya you should have a political stand. (Walisema mimi ndio nlitoa Didmus Barasa kofia, sasa mjue kitu moja watu wa 'Western' - Mimi mama, nimetoa mbio Didmus na Washiali Kibra. Watu western muwe na msimamo)” she said.
Didmus and Washiali faulted the ODM brigades during the by-election that saw Ken Okoth’s brother Imran Okoth bag the seat.
