A former Orange Democratic Movement party legislator has opted to return to the media business, seven years after her exit.

Mrs Alice Chae, the former Nyamira Woman Representative is now the proprietor of Seito FM, which broadcasts in Ekegusii dialect.

Speaking to the media in Kisii on Sunday, Mrs Chae said she was enthusiastic about her achievements in returning to the airwaves.

"It's a dream that I have been focusing on. It's something that makes me feel better. I always enjoy informing the masses," she said.

"With this station, I will ensure that all our listeners get what they want. More importantly, we guard the media credibility," she added.

Seito FM now joins Minto FM of Kenyan government a Royal Media's Egesa FM as some of the radio stations conquering Gusii airwaves.

Having resigned from Egesa in 2013, Chae was elected as first Woman Representative for Nyamira. She lost to Jerusha Momanyi in 2017.

Before joining Egesa FM when it was launched in 2006, Chae was among those legendary broadcasters of KBC Kisumu, now Minto FM.

While it's not clear if she's planning to contest in 2022, she was among leaders who helped ODM campaign in Kibra in the latest concluded by-elections.
