Eating some insects and ants come with a number of benefits. They are a great source of protein and have also proven to be essential in the body.
According to Professor Mauro Serafini, edible insects are an excellent source of protein, polyunsaturated fatty acids, minerals, vitamins and fiber.
“But until now, nobody had compared them with classical functional foods such as olive oil or orange juice in terms of antioxidant activity," noted Prof Serafini in a research published by Telegram.
He also noted that insects can play an instrumental role when it comes to fending off cancer.
