Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday officially opened the Living Room International Hospital at Kipkorgot, Ainabkoi Constituency, Uasin Gishu County.
Speaking after opening the hospital which specializes in palliative care deputy president said the hospital will help patients with cancer, kidney diseases, stroke.
“I congratulate the board of management and directors of the hospital for coming up with the hospital since it will not serve patients in Uasin Gishu County along but countrywide. We will partner with you to ensure the project is successful,, since it is part of the big four agenda” said the deputy president.
Ruto said the government is deepening collaboration with the private sector and development partners in healthcare infrastructure to boost access and enhance quality services to wananchi.
“Coupled with an expanded National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) scheme, free maternal and post-natal care for mother and child will ensure their well-being and yield healthy communities,” said the Jubilee deputy party leader.
Albert Burgei the hospital administrator said the hospital takes care of patients with incurable diseases 70 per cent being cancer patients.
He further said that the hospital which is a level 4 costs sh 280 million which was sponsored by the Living Room International Ministries Living Room international NGO in Kenya.
The hospital has a bed capacity of 49 patients.
