Kenyans have shown solidarity after raising over Sh2.4 million for a breast cancer victim.
Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Wednesday night during his JKL Show pleaded with Kenyans to help raise money for a 13-year-old, Bianca who has breast cancer.
Bianca, who was at JKL Show revealed that she had a mastectomy. However, due to lack of funds, she could undergo a chemotherapy.
“I just sit at home. I would love to be healed and go back to school. I quit going to school. I cant go in this situation. Some say I have one breast and they cant play with me. (Nakaa nyumbani tu…ningependa kupona na nirudi shuleni…Niliacha kwenda shule…siwezi kwenda nikiwa hivi; wengine wanasema niko na titi moja na hawawezi cheza na mimi),” she said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
“I feel bad because my fellow students at school say I will transmit the disease to them. (Naskia vibaya kwa sababu watoto shuleni wanasema nikiwakaribia nitawapea cancer),” a tearful Bianca added.
Initially, her family had come up with a Paybill number, 918675, through which they only managed to raise Sh12,000.
However, Jeff Koinange's plea was well-received as after 20 minutes, people had already raised Sh503, 500.
The young girl has expressed faith that she will overcome the disease.
“I will survive because I have come from far and God is always with me. (Nita-survive juu pale nimetoka ni mbali na Mungu yuko na mimi),” she said.
