She has accused Raila of insincerity claiming that he came into the ruling Jubilee Party with the intention of reviving his political ambitions after a series of presidential failures.

Speaking at the Timau Stadium in Meru, she warned that Jubilee will not be used as a platform for political failures to save themselves from pending political oblivion, accusing Raila of misusing the handshake.

“We welcomed Raila into our house as part of a pact to unite Kenyans for the prosperity of the people. However, it appears the handshake was not a sincere one but a bridge to help him ascend to power in 2022,” she said, Sunday.

The close ally of Deputy President William Ruto further accused the former Prime Minister of exporting confusion into Jubilee with the intention of breaking it.

She alleged that Raila is using the handshake to achieve personal political goals.

She stressed on the need for the party to reorganize itself, terming this the only way they can send Raila into retirement once and for all come 2022.

“From the word go, Raila’s agenda was to cultivate political mileage and destroy Jubilee. That is why we must put our house in order and send him to political oblivion in the coming elections," added Waruguru.

While both Uhuru and Raila have insisted that their truce is solely based on uniting the nation, Ruto's allies have remained suspicious that it has a political dimension regarding 2022.

Ruto's allies have repeatedly claimed that Raila, his main rival and possible competitor in the polls, is using the same to weaken Jubilee Party to make it easier for him to win in 2022.
