Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has yet again taken a swipe at Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, accusing him of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.
For months now, a disgruntled Kuria has been questioning Uhuru's commitment towards improving the economy of Mt Kenya region, with their relationship hitting a bottom low.
On Monday, Wambugu, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, insisted that Kuria won the Gatundu South seat courtesy of Uhuru's support.
The first-term legislator accused Kuria of leading a rebellion against Uhuru in Mt Kenya, arguing that 'he has easily forgotten his past'.
"Hon Moses Kuria, Member of Parliament for Gatundu South, which is the same constituency that Uhuru Kenyatta comes from & once represented as MP; hopes to be the one who will lead a revolution against Uhuru Kenyatta, that he imagines will happen in Mt Kenya," he wrote.
"Incidentally this is the same Moses Kuria that was literally made into the MP of Gatundu South by Uhuru Kenyatta himself, on his first attempt. This attitude of raw political opportunism amongst our elected leaders in Mt Kenya is why we are where we are as a region."
On Friday, President Uhuru hosted a delegation from Mt Kenya region, where he asked the to stop premature campaigns against Building Bridges Initiative report.
Kuria, who attended the meeting, accused organisers of discrimination, claiming that those perceived as dissidents were antagonised.
“Which unity are we talking about? I flew from Nairobi on a chopper, when I got to Sagana I was shown where to sit on the grass in the sun as if one needs to be shown where to sit in an open space. The meeting flopped,” said the Gatundu South MP.
