The opposition outfit, which is led by former presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot, has already collected over 1.2 million signatures of registered voters who are backing the Bill that seeks to reduce the public wage bill by decreasing the number of elective posts in the constitution.

However, Kipkorir has rubbished the current push for a referendum, arguing it will not sail through since it doesn't have the blessings of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

"The only referendum that will go to National Vote is the ONE that will be fronted by the President & Baba ... Others will suffer infant mortality .. We may get excited with other sideshows, but National Political Chessboard is in the hands of the two ... Truth sets us free," the city lawyer tweeted on Friday.

Reacting to the sentiments, Miguna accused Kipkorir of arguing like a "zombified pedestrian" and reminded him it was the mandate of all Kenyans to choose which laws will govern them, and, therefore, two individuals cannot determine which constitution was best for all citizens.

"Those like Kipkorir who refer to themselves as "advocates" but argue like zombified pedestrians must be exposed and shamed consistently. Kenya, democracy, constitutionalism and rule of law don't belong to Despot Uhuru and Con-Man Raila Odinga. They belong to all Kenyans - EQUALLY," he posted.
