Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has dumped deputy president William Ruto to join her party leader Raila Odinga.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has confirmed Aisha Jumwa will be supporting ODM's Bernard Okoth Imran for the Kibra Parliamentary Seat.
Taking it to Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, Etale said Jumwa who had shown up at County Hall during ODM's Party Parliamentary Group meeting, ditched DP Ruto's Tanga Tanga team and promised to fully commit her efforts in ensuring Kibra seat remains to ODM.
"Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa today officially ditched Team Tangatanga and vowed to vigorously campaign for Bernard Okoth Imran for the Kibra Parliamentary Seat. She attended the party Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall chaired by Party Leader H.E. Raila Odinga. Imran was also introduced to the members," read Philp Etale Facebook post.
Jumwa has for months at loggerheads with ODM party after she vividly started embracing team Tanga Tanga, which is focusing on campaigning for DP Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.
Kibra seat which has seen Aisha re-join hands with ODM fell vacant after the death of former MP Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer a few weeks ago.
The seat has attracted several aspirants including Jubilee's Ex-footballer MacDonald Mariga. It was expected Aisha Jumwa could support Mariga considering her recent stand with DP Ruto.
