Homa Bay County emerged victorious in the inaugural Ms President Reality TV show, which culminated on Wednesday at a colourful event at Catholic University of East Africa.
Hundreds of ladies had turned up when the competition, which has been airing on KTN home, was launched last year. Only five made it to grand finals.
For the last couple of weeks, the remaining contestants have been lobbying across the country, with voting being one of many parameters considered.
And Nareah Amondi Oketch, whose popularity on social media was a little bit insignificant, pulled a surprise when she was crowned the champion by judges.
Before the winner was unveiled, the contestants said they were all winners, adding that the competition had sharpened them greatly.
"We all have journey and we are all winners," said Ms Amondi.
"I'm very excited to be part of the finalists. I always say that Kenya is ready for a female president," added Umi Mohamed.
"To whoever will become the winner, we can't wait," said Irene Mayaka, who also doubles as ODM MCA in Nyamira.
Canadian government and European Union are major sponsors of the Ms President Reality TV show. The main aim is to break the jinx in a rather patriarchal society in Africa.
Besides meeting the contestants last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta also hosted them formally in State House. The other two are Betty Adera and Waruguru Kiai.
"I commit to you Kenyans that I am going to be that leader that you want to see," said Ms Amondi, holding her little baby.
Umi Mohamed, who comes from Garissa, emerged the second. She is on record for campaigning in Minneapolis in the US.
Ms Mayaka, who has been campaigning in Nyamira and Addis Ababa, came third while Betty Adera, who was endorsed by Sonko, came forth. Waruguru of Nyeri finished fifth.
