During the event, winners of different categories were given cash prices. Each winner received a total of Sh.50,000 from the Kenya Film Commission (KFC).
In total, KFC gave out Sh1.750,000 to the 35 winners in different categories. The actual ceremony happened on November 30, 2019.
One of the notable winners is Selina actor, Pascal Tokodi, who was voted the best lead actor in a TV drama.
Tokodi expressed his joy in winning the award noting that it had always been his dream.
He lauded the KFC for recognizing and awarding winners in various categories.
“I remember when I was in school, we had many creative guys but the talents went wasted. We need to grow this industry such that people can make a living out of it,” said Pascal Tokodi.
“I once almost gave up on becoming an actor because of the state in which the industry was but the current leadership is coming up with good measures and there is hope for the industry to grow,'' added Tokodi.
KFC Chief Executive Officer Timothy Owase affirmed during the event that this is just one of its roles in the country.
“Our role is to create a vibrant film industry in Kenya and Kalasha is one of our key projects where we celebrate the winners of various categories in the film industry,'' he added.
In attendance at the event was Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua who commended the commission for its good work.
