Itumbi on Tuesday questioned why the government is yet to pay the clerks for the extended seven days for registration yet a budget for this was factored in by the Ministry of Interior.

"So, Huduma Clerks have not been paid for the extra 7 days worked after the extension. Did I read somewhere in these streets that the entertainment budget at Interior shot from 104m to 3.78b because of paying Huduma and Census Clerks?" he asked.

He said frustrated Kenyans have been sending him messages over this issue.

"Several messages pale inbox asking for the payment of work done by the clerks who delivered the assignment. I will help you ask that we in GOK keep our pledge and #PayTheHudumaClerks," Itumbi wrote.
