Political analyst Brian Mutie has observed that the Jubilee party is both on the wrong and right foot with regards to the ongoing infighting within the ruling bloc.
Jubilee has been divided lately, culminating in the formation of rival groupings, with the climax being last week's clash between legislators; Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) and Maina Kamanda (nominated).
Speaking on KTN's Inside Politics on Sunday, the commentator said the fight shows two things about the party, the first one being the actual intensity of division, and the second one being a democratic party that allows members to air their different opinions.
He said the freedom of people to agitate for their own opinions while still members of the bloc, is a show of democracy.
"I think this is a clear depiction of division within the party. I always say when you see this kind of revolts within a party, it shows the kind of democracy intended within that party and I always say that is healthy," he said.
But at the same time, he said, the democracy might strangle the party to an extent that it becomes ungovernable, stating that the fights might with time grow into a major problem.
He opined that the party risks finding itself in a situation where people are only pushing for their interests while disregarding those of the party, therefore losing direction.
"The problem is how to hold the center of that particular party to an extent that its able to live in a sustainable way and serve the interest that it was set to serve," he added
