Controversial city blogger Robert Alai has expressed his views after State House Secretary of Innovations and Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi was arrested by detectives from the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
In a tweet on Wednesday evening, Alai faulted the arrest of Itumbi saying it targets people close to Deputy President William Ruto.
The current arrests are targeting people thought to be close to DP @WilliamsRuto. In the whole of my interrogation, I was NEVER asked anything to do with terrorism. It was all "who do you communicate within Ruto's office" etc. The arrest of @OleItumbi is WRONG!" he said.
Alai goes ahead to point out that rumors of the author of the fake letter to kill DP Ruto being someone from Ruto's officer were targeting Itumbi.
"When I saw a section of the media claiming that Kinoti was saying that author of "assassination letter" was in DP Ruto's office, I knew that they were playing psychological war on DP's staff and preparing the perfect narrative to warrant @OleItumbi's arrest," he added.
It still remains unclear why Dennis Itumbu, who is a great support of DP Ruto and his 2022 presidential ambitions was arrested.
