At the time of her death, Laboso was only two years into her position, after serving as the Sotik Member of Parliament for two terms.

Speaking on Radio Jambo on Tuesday, Abonyo said that though he remains strong, it has not prevented him from weeping when the memories he shared with his wife come flooding back.

"It is true is still cry but (ni kweli bado huwa nalia lakini) that is not weakness. Crying is not a show of weakness," he said on Bustani La Masawe show on Tuesday afternoon.

Asked by listeners if he is ready to love again or get himself a new wife, Abonyo said that such a thought has not even crossed his mind, three months after Laboso's death.

He said that he has not made such a decision as he is still mourning the departed county boss, who succumbed to cancer at the Nairobi Hospital.

"Getting another wife now that my wife has gone has not even crossed my mind (Mambo ya kupata mama mwingine eti kwa sababu mama ameenda hata haijanipitia kwa akili)," he added.

Laboso died after a long battle with cancer, which saw her seek medication in Britain and India.
