The Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi has once again landed in court, this time after being sued by a woman over child support.
Through her lawyer Enricah Dulo, the said mother has moved to court seeking to have Itumbi compelled to pay Sh50,000 monthly, claiming that he has deserted their child.
She claims that they were in a relationship with the accused between January and August 2018, after which Itumbi ended the relationship and has been avoiding her since.
“He ended the relationship in August 2018 when the lady informed him that she was pregnant with his child. She successfully delivered a baby girl on June 14, this year,” reads the court papers as was seen by the Nation on Friday.
She claims that Itumbi has not been interested in seeing the 2-month old baby, and has only been sending friends and his advocate to see the baby on his behalf.
The woman says that she has no source of income to cater for the needs of the child, after leaving her job when she became pregnant, hence the suit for support.
She says that she needs the sum to cater for the upkeep of the baby, including payment of a house help, and is also demanding a copy of Itumbi's ID card for the baby's birth certificate.
“She is seeking Sh50,000 monthly subsistence allowance for the minor to cater for food, clothing, medicine and house help salary," says the lawyer in the papers.
She says that Itumbi has also blocked her on social media and wants nothing to do with her.
