Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has taken a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto, asking him to prepare for a humiliating defeat.
The DP completed his two-day tour in Nyamira on Saturday, visiting West Mugirango and Kitutu Masaba constituencies.
Ruto asked locals to support his 2022 bid, arguing that the Jubilee administration has rolled out several projects which benefit them.
But at Kabondo Kasipul on Sunday, Onyonka said the 'ground does not favour Ruto's adding that he should prepare for opposition politics in future.
"He started supporting Punguza Mizigo, it failed badly. He's now opposing Building Bridges Initiative. I want to tell him that he won't succeed," he said.
Onyonka added: "We shall deal with him badly. He's the next opposition leader if he can't join the President, Raila and Matiang'i. We shall see him off."
The seasoned politician accompanied Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to a fundraiser in Kabondo Kasipul following invitation by Dr Eve Obara.
During the function, Matiang'i, who has been at loggerheads with Ruto in Gusii, snubbed politics and only promoted the government's development agenda.
Several leaders allied to Matiang'i snubbed Dr Ruto during his visit to Nyamira on Friday and Saturday. However, a number of MPs attended.
