Speaking on Tuesday evening during an interview on Milele FM, the vocal politician said he had a discussion with his family members on the bewildering array of dangers he faces as an active politician.

The discussion, he said, helped his family have a sense of the risks he grapples with in his political life; risks that they have since come to terms with.

"So these are things that my family has accepted that our father has entered politics and there are dangers that he is grappling with. (So hizi ni vitu zenye familia yangu imekubali ya kwamba baba ameingia utetezi na anapitia mambo magumu)," he said.

Last week, Khalwale was seen engaging in a confrontation with a section of rowdy youth in Kibra during the by-election.

A picture of him armed with several stones to defend himself, went viral on social media platforms, becoming a meme.

Khalwale said carrying the stones was an act of self defense as he could not run while being attacked.
