Speaking in Kakamega on Friday, the lawmaker rubbished claims that the function will take a political direction and will be used to make some Western Kenya political declarations.

He stated that the function is purely aimed at enabling Kenyans to discuss the proposed law changes contained in the BBI report and also propose what they want to be added.

"This is not a political meeting, its aimed at sensitizing the people of the Western Province to read and understand the BBI. Those with better ideas can also hand them over, it will not be used to endorse anyone (Huu mkutano sio wa kisiasa, ni wa kuhamasisha watu wetu wa Western province kusoma BBI na waielewe. Wale wenye mapendekezo mazuri watupatie. Sio mkutano wa kuendorse mtu)," he said.

Once again, the Senator insisted that there will only be one meeting in Kakamega County on Saturday, warning those planning a parallel one at in Nabongo Grounds in Mumias.

He claimed that the other function, which has been planned by allies of ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula and their colleagues from the ruling Jubilee Party, will not see the light of day.

"There will only be one meeting, we will not allow another one to be held (Mkutano ni mmoja, haturaruhusu mikutano miwili)," he added.

ODM leader Raila Odinga, the cofounder of the BBI push has confirmed that he will be attending the forum.
