A confrontation between Nairobi County Assembly Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok and Gatundu South Member of parliament Moses Kuria was witnessed on Saturday during a campaign rally to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Following the heat that the confrontation raised and allegations by Moses Kuria that he was bullied, Peter Imwatok on Monday came out to defend himself.
According to Imwatok who was speaking during a press conference at his office, Moses Kuria had disrespected Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga by not standing when the ODM leader was entered Mama Ngina Drive where the rallyw as taking place.
Imwatok pointed out that he took it upon himself to confront the legislator for the alleged disrespectful gesture that he had shown towards the opposition leader.
“Where I was born in Makongeni, if a small boy pockets while the elders are passing, his age mates will remove his hands from his pockets forcefully. Therefore as the sons of Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta we will not sit back and allow Kuria to disrespect and humiliate everyone across the country. We will not tolerate the continued disrespect of Kuria to senior politicians ,” Imwatok stated as quoted by The Star.
Moses Kuria who is an ally of Deputy President William Ruto declared that he does not support Raila Odinga adding that he attended te BBI rally because he was in support of the BBI report.
