We can't always prevent arthritis but we can reduce the risks of developing this pain in the joints.

Note that one is likely to develop this disease as they grow older meaning it is more common in older adults.

These 5 practices could lower your risks of arthritis even as you age;

1. Eat fish

Fish has been found to contain proper amounts of omega-3 fatty acids which is a healthy polyunsaturated fat. This is important for the body as it helps reduce inflammation at the joints which cause the pain.

2. Control your weight

The knee joints are the most affected by arthritis. Your knees have to support your body weight meaning being overweight can take a toll on them. People who are overweight or obese are more likely to develop arthritis than those with healthy weight.

3. Exercise

The weaker the muscles at the joint area, the higher the likelihood of developing arthritis. You are advised to exercise regularly to strengthen these muscles. Find appropriate exercises that would strengthen the quadricep muscles that are run at the front of your thighs.

4. Avoid joint injuries

People who suffer joint injuries or those who suffered before have high risks of arthritis. Adults who suffer knee injury are 5 times more likely to develop arthritis compared to children. It is advisable that you seek proper treatment to avoid future pain.

5. Use garlic frequently

Garlic has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties. Like we said, arthritis is majorly caused by inflammation at the joints. Regular consumption of garlic could therefore help prevent this inflammation.
