ODM leader Raila Odinga and his deputies will formally join Kibra by-election campaigns days to November 7th polls, George Aladwa has confirmed.
For the last one week, chaos have been witnessed in Kibra, with rowdy youths stoning Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga's official campaign vehicle.
Already, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has summoned the ODM party over the chaos following complaints by Jubilee.
“You are hereby required within 24 hours from the date of service hereof to file a response to the said complaint. Should you fail to file a response and enter an appearance within the time mentioned above, the complaint will be heard and determined in your absence,” reads the letter dated October 15 and signed by IEBC's acting Director Legal and Public Affairs, Ms Salome Oyugi.
On Sunday, Aladwa says, Deputy Party leaders Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho will join the campaigns to bolster Imran Okoth's chances.
The two are expected to start with door to door campaigns before holding mega rallies in the city constituency that has been a bedrock of Raila for ages.
“This coming Sunday, after the Mashujaa Day, we will hold rallies in Lindi and Laini Saba wards. Joho and Oparanya will lead the rallies,” ODM Nairobi chairman George Aladwa said.
Mr Odinga is scheduled to address a mega rally on November 3rd at the historic Kamukunji grounds, four days to the by-election that has seen DP William Ruto campaign for Mariga vigorously.
“We have demarcated the constituency in a way that will enable us to reach every door in Kibra. This is an ODM constituency and the strategy we have deployed will enable us to recapture the seat," Aladwa said.
