The MCA, who is the assembly's deputy chief whip told off Mr Odima for linking the ward reps with the corruption menace.

He argued that MCAs have nothing to do with the funds for development kitty allocated to the wards.

"My friend Peter should stop thinking about corruption anywhere in the county, MCAs have never been involved in any graft cases at all," the visibly angry MCA said.

He noted that ward funds are handled by the administrators in charge of the county projects in any ward and in any case MCAs are only consulted.

"What we basically do as the members of the county assembly is legislation and setting up budgeting for the development, we do not come close to the money," Tenai said accusing COTU boss of seeking to paint them in bad light before the public.

This came following Mr Odima's remarks earlier when he appealed to Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who was also present during the ceremony to deal with the ward legislators linked to the graft.

"MCAs are looting the money at expense of the development in our county, they should be held responsible and account on what we have lost," he said.

The governor, however, did not address the matter in his speech.
