The Speaker of the Senate Ken Lusaka has mourned the death of William Makali Wamalwa.

William, who is a third born in the family of the late former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa passed away on Sunday evening. 

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday evening, Lusaka noted that William's death is a blow to the entire Wamalwa's family. 

''Condolences to my friend Waziri @EugeneLWamalwa and the larger Wamalwa family for the passing on of Willy Big. The late Willy is a son of ex- VP Michael Wamalwa Kijana, who mentored a majority of the current crop of leaders in Kenya. Rest in Peace,'' said Ken Lusaka in the tweet

William was a second-year student at the University of Nairobi undertaking commerce. 

His uncle, Robert Wamalwa, was the first one to confirm the death. 

He told Daily Nation that the cause of his death is still unknown, but will be revealed as soon as the post-mortem results on the body of the deceased are out. 

"My nephew was diabetic and that might have led to his death but, of course, when the official post-mortem report is out, we will know what happened," said Robert as quoted by Daily Nation.

He refuted rumours on social media that indicated that Wamalwa's son died from drug abuse, depression and alcoholism.
