Kenya Airports authority was 'forced' to replaced first Christmas tree they had erected at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after Kenyans on Twitter (KOT)'s trolled them.
On Wednesday, some Kenyans took to Twitter and expressed their dissatisfaction with JKIA for erecting what they described as 'an embarrassing Christmas tree' at the International airport.
Basing on what JKIA had put up, the tree looked unstable with no vivid shape.
Kenyans started making jokes around the three, with some linking it to a corrupt nation where individuals mandated to deliver a good job end up with poorly done structure.
Some said they were already embarrassed by politicians so they could not afford the same from the airport, considering all visitors coming to the country will be seeing it.
However, hours later, JKIA swiftly replaced the tree with a better one, making KOT to congratulate themselves for raising the issue.
"Some person put up an ‘emaciated’ Xmas tree at JKIA. #KOT as always raised a storm. Hours later it was replaced with a ‘fatter’ one. The contractor who was cutting corners and saving some few pennies must be cursing Kenyans on Twitter," Ahmed Mohamed tweeted over the new changes.
"Due to your huge outcry online over the emaciated Christmas tree at JKIA, it has now been replaced with a more bigger and fatter one. Social media always winning,"@KennyKaburu also tweeted.
