Speaking on Sunday, Malala said leaders opposed to the BBI forum set for Bukhungu on January 18, are plotting a parallel meeting in Mumias, in the very same county.

"There have been wide speculations that we are going to have a parallel meeting or parallel rally in Mumias," he told the media after a public rally in Bungoma county.

He said as the Senator of Kakamega, he will ensure that no other rally is held in the county to counter the Bukhungu one, set to be presided over by Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

The youthful legislator said he has put in place necessary measures to thwart the parallel forum.

"As the senator, I want to categorically state that I have put every machinery in place to ensure that we only have one meeting, which will be the Bukhungu meeting," he added.

Already, all Western Kenya governors have pledged support for the Bukhungu forum, which comes a week after a similar event was held in Kisii.
