Former aspiring MP of Kitutu Chache Constituency James Atandi on Tuesday demanded that the Kisii County commissioner Martin Kibet should investigate the chiefs in his area, Mwamonari location Marani Sub-county, Kisii County.
This comes shortly after a man who was identified as George Morara allegedly killed and buried his wife in a 25 feet latrine was held there before being transferred to the police.
The residents, however, blamed the chiefs and Rioma Police station officers for protecting the man in the past, for all the atrocities he committed.
Atandi who has been campaigning for better leadership in the community addressed journalists in Kisii where he wanted the chiefs Tom Ochwang' i and Jacklif Mosomi investigated claiming they dine with the goons in the area after they commit a crime.
"We want him (county commissioner) to investigate the chiefs in Mwamonari location over the increased crimes in the area. The chiefs are being given money by the goons to protect them. If this will continue, we can not reduce crimes in Kisii," Atandi said as reported by Egesa Fm.
On Friday last week, the flamboyant Atandi demanded that all the police officers in Rioma station to be transferred as they have failed the locals. He pointed out a fault where the officers who are friends with Morara allegedly went to bring back Morara's wife from where she had run to, only for him to end her life.
