TwoKisumu County Executive Committee (CEC) members are facing impeachment after Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) proposed their exit.
The two are Finance chief Nelly Achar and Achie Alai who heads the Tourism docket. MCAs say they are not happy with how the two have been handling their dockets.
Consequently, the members, in two separate impeachment motions, presented a proposal to have the two axed and replaced.
In his motion, Kolwa East ward representative Stephen Owiti wants Achar ousted in what Roy Samo of Kajulu said was billions in pending bills in the ministry.
Samo who also tabled the motion for Alai's exit said that the members are not happy with how the CEC handled the 2019/2020 budget proposal which the house has since refused to pass.
The house has since rejected Governor Anyang Nyongo's budget proposal on grounds that it was not supported by important documents and excluded the input of the assembly.
He added that they will avail more information to solidify their impeachment grounds, adding that the two will be required to avail and defend themselves before the MCAs.
He told Radio Ramogi that the CECs will have time to defend themselves before the motion is tabled.
