The BBI report which was launched in November proposed a PM who can be hired and dismissed by the President and Parliament.

However, proponents of BBI insist that the report is not conclusive, arguing that there is a need for amendments.

At his Borabu home, MP Ben Momanyi said a powerful PM will run government functions without any pressure.

"All we want is a powerful PM post. Someone who cannot be dismissed by the president. We should embrace the parliamentary system of government," Momanyi said.

Few meters away in North Mugirango, Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi insisted that calls for PM who is powerful are quite in order.

"I have said before and I repeat, we want a powerful PM in the Building Bridges Initiative report. That's what we are going to push for. We know the parliamentary system is the only option for us," she said.

The two are vocal supporters of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, who is said to be positioning himself for an elective seat in Nyamira.

The leaders who support powerful PM post from Gusii are planning to meet over the weekend to deliberate on BBI report.
