Davis Kiprono Ruto, a young Nakuru politician has faulted the government over Keroche Breweries woes.
The budding politician on Thursday where castigated the government for allegedly trying to bring down Keroche Breweries saying it will jeopardise opportunities for over 100 interns annually.
"Keroche Breweries absorbs over 100 students Annually either as interns, attaches or full time (sic) Job. Therefore the witch-hunt the government is imposing on Tabitha Karanja is uncalled for.
"Let our government create a conducive environment for local investors. Let it stop bringing down our own investors. Keroche Breweries is within Nakuru Jurisdiction and it closure will render most Comrades Jobless with no place to seek internships and Jobs," he said.
Several other politicians including Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui have termed the move uncalled for.
"We are greatly saddened by the manner in which KRA is treating local investors and in particular how they have treated the Keroche Industries,” he said
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Nordin Haji on Wednesday ordered for the arrest of the Keroche Breweries directors over alleged Sh14.2 billion tax evasion.
Keroche Breweries CEO has revealed that it is a plot staged by its competitors.
The crackdown on tax evaders has also seen billionaire Humphery Kaiuki arrested and charged over Sh41 billion tax evasion.
