President Uhuru Kenyatta will have no business of staying around even after his term gets to an end in 2022, Moses Kuria has said.
There have been calls to have Uhuru hanging around with his confidant David Murathe saying that "he is going nowhere".
Uhuru is serving second and final term. He was re-elected in 2017 albeit controversially having lost in Supreme Court.
Terming his as "my constituent", the Gatundu South MP said Uhuru is a "gentleman" who has no intentions to remain in power.
"Our President is a gentleman and he is going home.. take it from the authority of his area MP and let the debate end there," Kuria said.
He took a swipe at former Jubilee party interim vice-chairperson David Murathe, accusing him of being in the group that misleads the public over the current succession politics.
"Mimi nimewacha pombe mwaka huu lakini hiyo miaka mingine tulikua tunakunywa na Murathe. (I have stopped drinking...In the past we used to drink with Murathe)..." Kuria said.
There are claims that Uhuru could be positioning himself to run for Prime Minister post which will be advanced by the Building Bridges Initiative team.
Murathe and COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli have been on the forefront at hinting that the president should continue to be in power as he is very young claims that have received criticism from Deputy President William Ruto's allies.
