Thirdway Alliance Party will again criss cross the country picking signatures in its new referendum bid, the party leader Ekuru Aukot has said.
This is as the party seeks to relaunch its new Punguza Mizigo amendments push, an improvement of an earlier similar push which was rejected at the County Assembly level.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the former presidential hopeful noted that the party will be beginning the process from scratch, as he also called upon Kenyans to offer their voluntary services.
"As promised, we are not abandoning the Punguza Mizigo Kenya project. We shall relaunch it, In sha Allah. Kaa tayari to help us get even more signatures. We will need alot of volunteers," he wrote.
The party argues that Kenyans are being burdened by a huge wage bill caused by the huge representation heaped on them under the current system, which it wants to reduce.
In the failed bid, it proposed among others, the reduction of Members of Parliament as one of the solutions, as well as a single presidential term of seven years.
The yet-to-be-launched push will be joining the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), whose proposals include the introduction of a Prime Ministerial seat for inclusivity.
The BBI taskforce has also proposed the return of the Opposition Leader slot and also reccomends that state officers be barred from doing business with the government.
