Preparations for the burial of veteran politician Laban Juma Toto have been concluded ahead of his burial in Gem, Siaya county on Saturday next week.
Toto succumbed to internal head injuries he sustained after falling at his house in Jerusalem Estate in Nairobi at the Kenyatta National Hospital on September 10.
According to arrangements made by his family, his body will be collected from the Montezuma Funeral Home in Nairobi on September 26 and taken for a funeral services at the St Stephens ACK Church.
Thereafter, his remains will spend the night at his home for viewing.
The cortege will leave the city for Siaya County on Friday morning, before before burial in Lihanda village on Saturday.
According to Benga music producer George Ouma, this will succeed a fundraiser at the All Saints Cathedral Church in Nairobi on Tuesday.
“The family will hold a fundraiser next Tuesday at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi from 5pm,” said Ouma, one of the persons who was close to him before his death.
Toto was known for his songs "FC Gor Mahia", composed in honour of Kenyan Premier League Side Gor Mahia and " Rose Jaber (the beautiful Rose), both released in 1970.
He has left behind a widow Jacinta Juma and and two children; Rosemary Juma and Calvin Ochieng'.
