Speaking at Nyamira Anglican Church in Bondo, Orengo said, BBI's main aim is to unite Kenyans.

"For purposes of reconciliation, we need to get together as a nation, and I think the supreme spirit behind the Building Bridges Initiative is to reconcile the nation," he said as highlighted by KTN.

On his part, Alego-Usonga legislator Sam Atandi said democracy is an important aspect that should be delivered by the BBI.

"We ultimately need to have a democratic and revolutionary government. This is something that we have not achieved over the years despite independence in 1963. I want to believe that this BBI, and this really need to be noted, that this BBI must ensure that we achieve a democratic, realistic and revolutionary government," he said.

The two leaders had accompanied opposition leader Raila Odinga to a church service.

Addressing the congregation, Odinga urged religious leaders to be on the forefront in the fight against corruption.

"When we see the church is in collusion with corrupt politicians, helping them to sanitise ill gotten wealth, the church is in self as guilty as they are guilty," he said.
