In a tweet, Itumbi gave Kenyans two options on how to go about this question which has since caused an uproar among Kenyans.

"On Census, there is a question of tribe. You can answer with your tribe Or simply say Kenyan. Your choice," said Dennis Itumbi.

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna also came out to add his voice on the census tribe question.

Miguna blasted the tribe question saying that it has a political value.

"Kenyans in the Diaspora are Kenyans and have the same rights as any other Kenyans. Consequently, they should be counted. Secondly, collecting information about one's TRIBE has no material benefit to the person or to Kenya. It is meant for POLITICAL GERRYMANDERING," said Miguna.

The exiled lawyer who is Canada also stated that people outside the country should also be included in the National Census 2019.

National Census 2019 kicks off today (Saturday evening). The exercises will continue to Monday very early in the morning.

A section of Kenyans have declared that they will not participate in this exercise for various reasons.
