Maasai community is poised to announce its position on the recently released Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report at a huge rally in Suswa, Narok county.
In a tweet, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina noted he would dispatch a team of expatriates to all the Maasai local radio stations to explain the nine areas of the report to the community in the local dialect.
Ole Kina said the team would then make an agreement with the community members on the way forward concerning the report.
Further, the lawmaker claimed that the consultations would be followed by a meeting of all the Maasai community members and leaders aimed at making a 'declaration' of their stand on the report on a date to be communicated.
"Good Morning #KOT? From Feb 1st -10th 2020 my team of experts will engage the Maasai Nation on the nine Key areas of BBI using local Maasai Radio Stations to Seek consensus on BBI. Followed by a mega rally in Suswa for our declaration on the BBI." Read the tweet.
The vocal senator had been criticising the BBI report since its inception.
The report which is the product of handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga was released last year.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has constituted a team of experts who would engage Kenyan citizens and collect their views on the report before it is implemented either through Parliament or popular initiative or both.
