Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament has dropped names of individuals he thinks will shape the Kenyan political landscape going forward.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the former legislator held the view that Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi would be in President Uhuru Kenyatta's group and would have reconciled with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party supremo Raila Odinga.
Kabando named the current head of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Mukhisa Kituyi, Makueno Governor Kivutha Kibwana and former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Jimnah Mbaru as persons to watch out for.
"Claims and counter claims within Jubilee Party top echelons will precipitate change of parliamentary, parastatals and executive leadership. Raila’s ODM party will stop protecting their own bedeviled in graft. But though Kalonzo Musyoka will remain largely ambivalent, he’ll board.
"Amani’s Musalia Mudavadi will play yet another key role, within Uhuru’s corner but reconciled with Raila’s. Plus Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Mukhisa Kituyi, and Jimnah Mbaru will be on high negotiation table. A newly nationally respected figure will emerge in Northern Kenya to join shapers, " Kabando said in a tweet.
The former legislator's words come with less than three years remaining to the next general election in 2022.
President Kenyatta is in his second and final term and many political observers are watching to see who he will support as his successor.
Deputy President William Ruto has come out clearly to say that he will contest for the presidency, and is expected to contest against a host of other candidates.
