Elders in Bomachoge, Kisii County have confirmed their total support to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi ahead of the 2022 polls.
On Thursday while speaking at Riagongera, the elders led by the chairman James Ong’eta Kimonge said Maangi will not be alone especially during this time his security was withdrawn and his official cars seized.
"I wish to confirm that our support as elders from Bomachoge for Maangi is unshaken. We will stand with Maangi all through to ensure he is succeeds his boss Governor James Ongwae in 2022," said Kimonge.
He said the elders will hold a major rally at Ogembo town today, Friday to issue a statement over the troubles facing Maangi.
The chairman appealed to Maangi to stand firm and speak his mind whenever he thinks the leader of the county is not headed in the right direction.
"No amount of intimidation will work against Maangi because he is our own son and we will be behind him no matter what. We are urging the county leadership to focus on service delivery and not intimidating Maangi because he is working with his friends including DP Ruto," he added.
