Biashara ward MCA Peter Njoroge alias 'Wanyaguthie' was on Tuesday charged in court for causing public disturbance over the management of a public toilet in Nakuru town.
The MCA who appeared before Principal Magistrate Lilian Arika, was charged alongside ten others.
They were charged for forcefully taking over the management of a public toilet at Mashambani stage in Nakuru.
Accoridng to the prosecution, a scuffle ensued after the MCA and the other accused persons evicted Mwai who was at the caha office on 13th June before taking over its management.
Members of the Mashambani self help group who claimed ownership of the toilet, filed a complaint that the MCA had hired goons to harass them.
According to the self help group, they were allocated the space to build the toilets by the county government. However the MCA denied the charges levelled against him.
The suspects were released on a Sh 20,000 bond each with an alternative cash bail of Sh 5,000 each.
He was arrested last week and was supposed to be charged on 19th July but the case was postponed after the Director of Public prosecution sought to peruse the file. The case is set for mention on 31st July 2019.
