Raila formed the BBI alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta after their 2018 truce, a campaign they said seeks to heal the nation from its previous political divisions and enhance unity.

But Murkomen now says that Raila has been giving varying information about the initiative, terming it a unifying agenda, and hinting that it seeks to harm some people at the same time.

Speaking on Tuesday, he pointed a finger at Raila, accusing him of using the same to settle scores against forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto, who have been questioning BBI.

"This is about building bridges and we are being told that we are building bridges to end previous political divisions but since the inception of the handshake we've been threatened and people have been saying that its about dealing with so and so," he said on Citizen TV.

He pointed out thay Raila has personally threatened the opposing side of dire consequences, which he said is a contradiction of what the BBI is supposed to stand for

The vocal senator also pointed out that Raila has been keen to have some people excluded from the entire debate, which makes the BBI issue a paradox, in his view.

"They insist that the Deputy President should not be involved, leaders like ourselves should not even talk about it. Its been a paradox that a process which us about building bridges has been about threatening people," he added.

The DP who was initially openlynopposed to the BBI, whose taskforce is expected to hand over its report to Uhuru and Raila soon, last week refuted claims that he is a barrier to the BBI.

But his allies have been alert, especially following reports that the BBI taskforce might propose constitutional changes, with some declaring that they will oppose such attempts.
