The unemployment rate in Kenya currently can lead to desperation in people when it comes to taking up a job offer.
If you want to never regret taking a particular job, here are 3 key things to consider;
1. Can you really do it
Do you have the capacity to do the job once it is offered to you? Out of desperation, you can take up a job you have less or completely no idea about.
There are a number of people who get jobs that they haven't qualified for in the name of 'a job is a job' and end up being fired, reasons being incompetence and under-performance. If you take up a job you don't know how to do, chances are that you won't last in it.
Out of desperation for a job, you might end up signing a contract for a job with less pay than you should actually be getting.
For this reason, you should consider negotiating the salary. Is it enough for you? Would you rather be earning more? If you think it is too small, then check if there is room for negotiation. If not then budget yourself to fit it.
3. Stability of the job
Will it last? Are there promotions? It would be very good for you if you get assured of the stability of the job. It could be a job that lasts for a few weeks and it's over. Knowing the stability of the job helps you plan yourself accordingly.
