Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has taken an issue with police officers who gain extra ordinary weight few years after graduating from college.
Wamatangi, who was speaking on NTV's morning show on Tuesday, was of an opinion that police should be recalled at an interval of every five years for refresher courses.
The Senator noted that many police officers with tummies seen on the highways are a result of luck of regular training after leaving college.
"When they are matching to graduate, they are straight guys, flying their feet in the air, and fit when they are graduating, but follow this officer five years down the line and you find him panting under a tummy on a highway here because he can barely turn around," said Wamatangi.
Police forces have been on the limelight after being linked to a number of key crimes in the country, with the latest one being the arrest of three police officers attached to Kayole police station after they were linked to a robbery in Eastleigh, Nairobi County in last week.
Wamatangi who believes officers are given much freedom after stepping out from their training college, says serious reforms should be considered to restore a disciplined forces back in the country.
