Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has sent a heartwarming message to his dad, former President Daniel Arap Moi who turned 95 on Monday.
In a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Gideon has hailed his father for the life he has lived while supporting the other people in the society.
He also wished him many more years with good health so as they may continue enjoying his presence.
''Happy 95th birthday to H.E Mzee Moi. You are a beacon that continues to shine through the lives of the people. We wish you good health and abundant God's providence,'' read the Senator's post.
Daniel Moi, the longest-serving president since independence was born on September 2, 1924. He took the helm in 1978 after the demise of the then President Jomo Kenyatta to which he served until 2002 when he was succeeded by Emilio Mwai Kibaki.
During his 24-years tenure, Mzee Moi endured all the negatives and positives with his main challenge being the 1982 failed coup.
He successfully contained the situation through the support of his loyal officers who arrested the suspects and the mastermind, Hezekiah Ochuka was sentenced to death.
