Deputy President William Ruto will still remain an influential figure both Rift Valley and Mt Kenya region despite increasing rebellion.
The DP has been traversing the country with the hope of cementing his networks, something that has caused jitters within the government.
While noting that a referendum will be held in 2020, former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando on Wednesday said despite Ruto's influence, Raila Odinga will form government in 2020.
According to him, Raila's government will be transitional in nature and will last only for five years.
"Post plebiscite mid2020, H.E Deputy President RUTO will remain highly influential esp CentralKenya and Rift Valley, but it’s Rt. Hon. RAILA ODINGA’s hitherto elusive Presidency that’ll rollout into 2022, ONE TERM ‘TRANSITIONAL’ reformist Rainbow govt., with 65% vote approval," he tweeted.
In the past, Raila has often distanced himself from 2022 politics, only saying that he's keen to help President Uhuru Kenyatta implement his agenda.
Raila’s spokesman Dennis Onyango said in a past statement that “his efforts are currently directed at the building bridges initiative and the determination that he (Raila) and President Uhuru Kenyatta are engaged in to bring the country together and heal the ills that have afflicted it throughout the years.”
