DP William Ruto's Tanga Tanga camp on Wednesday introduced yet another marked person in the blacklist, an indication that all is lost despite his continued association with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
At a media briefing, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi pointed an accusing finger to Nancy Gitau, claiming that she's the secretary to the secret plot targeting DP William Ruto in assassination plot.
"Nataka nieleze huyo chairman (Kibicho), ama mwenye hizi vituko zoote tunafanyishwa for the last 10 days. Watwambie kwa sababu tuko na clip itachezwa na chairman mwenyewe anajijua hata kama juzi alisema that ako na brains.
"Nataka nimwambie huyo chairman na Secretary Nancy Gitau. Kama mnaamanisha ya kwamba mlikuwa na mkutano ya kupanga maendeleo, Nancy Gitau hayuko kwa ofisi yeyote ya kupanga maendeleo. Tunajua zaidi na tutasimama imara hata mpangie watu wangapi, mfunge watu wangapi," he said.
Ms Gitau served as a Director in Political Affairs in Grand Coalition government, and was among trusted President Mwai Kibaki's confidants. She was trusted with putting ODM on check.
In 2012, she was credited for playing a vital role in merging of TNA and URP. After 2013 polls, Uhuru appointed her as senior political advisor in State House, a role she played until 2016.
An internal rivalry between TNA and URP led to her resignation. DP William Ruto led camp accused her of fixing him at ICC in Hague. She resigned through writing to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
But days to 2017 polls, Uhuru recalled Ms Gitau to lead campaigns in Jubilee, a move that saw the powerful lady taking NASA head-on in various strategy meetings.
Early this year, Ms Gitau was named as one of Uhuru's advisors who pushed for elevation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to the powerful position of chairman of National Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.
The move did not go well with Tanga Tanga team which felt like that the idea was to undermine Deputy President William Ruto. Despite not making public appearances, Gitau is believed to me the lady behind Uhuru's critical political pronouncements.
