In a statement on twitter signed by KURA director general Silas Kinoti, the authority asked motorists using the Mutindwa junction and Jogoo roadsides to be very careful on that day.

'''This is to notify the general public that both sides traffic between Mutindwa Junction and Jogoo Road will be partially affected on Sunday, 6th October 2019 as from 6 AM to 6 PM to allow installation of a Footbridge along Outer Ring Road near Tena estate,' said the authority.

Outer Ring Road is among the busiest roads in Nairobi. It's closure might results in a heavy traffic jam.

However, KURA noted that traffic marshalls will be at the site to help direct motorists on alternative routes to use.

This is not the first time a busy road is being closed for purposes of installation of a footbridge.

Last month, the authority announced on various days, mostly weekends, closure of a section of Thika Super Highway to facilitate smooth installation of an overpass at Allsops area.

The organization is doing all it can to help avoid traffic jams and accidents on Kenyan roads.
