Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Saturday asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to ensure interests of the Kamba community are catered for, should the party's candidate Imran Okoth win the Kibra by-election.
Speaking at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, the county boss appealed to Odinga to ensure Kambas are given at least a representation of two people in the Kibra Constituency Development Fund (CDF) committee.
"Honourable Raila Odinga we as members of the Kamba community are requesting you that at least two members of the Kamba community be part of the CDF committee in Imran's office. (Mheshimiwa Raila, sisi kama kabila la Kamba tunakuomba tunataka Kibra katika ofisi ya Imran ile ya CDF tunataka tuwe na watu wawili katika hiyo ofisi Wakamba)," he said.
Dr Mutua drummed up support for the ODM party candidate, calling on the Kambas in Kibra constituency to cast their votes for Imran.
On Thursday, Kibra residents will vote for different candidates that have been fronted by different political parties to determine who will be their next legislator.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Ken Okoth, who succumbed to a brave battle with cancer.
