Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now wants Cabinet Secretaries to use the resources allocated to them to carry out their duties.
This follows revelations that a group of CSs from Mt Kenya have been meeting at a city hotel to discuss development matters for the people if their region.
But the Senator now says that the ministers have boardrooms the size of football pitches, and have no reason meeting at hotels for anything.
Speaking on Citizen TV's Day Break on Monday morning, the lawmaker said that though they have every right to meet for such reasons, they should do it in the right way.
"The issue of meeting to discuss development is not unique in Kenya. This CSs have big boardrooms (the size of football pitches) and therefore they can meet there and discuss development agendas," he said.
CSs; Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health), James Macharia (Transport) and Joe Mucheru (ICT) have been accused of holding meetings at La Mada hotel with questionable intentions.
This follows claims by Deputy President William Ruto that the four could be part of a high delegation that has been planning on how to eliminate him.
Cherargei now says that the issue should not be taken lightly, and should not be downplayed.
"These are very serious allegations and as a country, we must treat it with the seriousness it deserves. We cannot just rule out given the cut-throat political competition and the nature of political assassinations that have happened before," he added.
